§ 9-2. Fire exits—Obstructing.

  • No person shall at any time place any encumbrances or obstructions of any kind before or upon any fire escape, balcony or ladder intended as a means of escape from fire. It shall be the duty of every member of the police department who shall discover any fire escape encumbered or obstructed in any manner to forthwith report the same through department channels to the police chief, who shall immediately notify the owner or agent or tenant to remove such encumbrance or obstruction and the encumbrance or obstruction shall thereupon be immediately removed.
