Latest version.
  • (a)

Plan review. The building official shall examine or cause to be examined each application for a permit and the accompanying documents, consisting of drawings, specifications, computations and additional data, and shall ascertain by such examinations whether the construction indicated and described is in accordance with the requirements of the technical construction codes and all other pertinent laws or ordinances.

    (b)

Plan review completion time. Plan reviews normally will be completed with initial review comments within ten (10) full working days after submittal. However, this review period is subject to indefinite extension dependant upon the quality and completeness of plans received prior to submittal and the workload of the building official. Partial plans will not be accepted or reviewed by the city, until all required technical/specialty drawings are included. One (1) final set of approved plans shall be retained by the building official, one (1) by the Cobb County Fire Marshal, and one (1) set, with original signature approvals, shall be placed on the job site and shall remain there throughout construction for the fire marshal and building inspector reference. If the approved plans are not on the job site, there shall not be an official inspection completed by the building inspector and a reinspection fee may be assessed.
